Audit Liaison

The audit liaison function was created to assist and support management in responding effectively to auditors and other external reporting agencies.

The audit liaison's role and responsibilities encompass the following:

Provide advice and assistance on the audit process.

  • Along with management, a representative from URC attends the various audit related meetings (i.e., entrance conferences, status meetings, end of field work meetings, etc.).
  • The audit liaison assists management in reviewing and responding to draft audit findings, recommendations, and draft reports.
  • In order to fully address the audit recommendations and/or the risks identified by the auditors, the audit liaison assists management in developing options and alternative strategies for effective implementation of the audit recommendations.
  • The audit liaison serves as a point of contact and information regarding the overall audit process including the process for preparing and routing management's response to the draft report.
Provide up-to-date information to executive management.

  • In preparation for Audit Committee meetings of the Board of Regents, the audit liaison assembles and distributes current information on audit issues, reports, and audit tracking forms.
